Furbelows seaweed holdfast (Saccorhiza polyschides) anchored to a rock. Furbelows is the largest European seaweed, it can grow up to 4.5 metres in length. It is used as a fertilizer and is eaten as the Japanese food kombu. It is also a good source of iodine.
