Apple Star crack (virus) leading to secondary infection of Brown rot. The virus will cause gross distortion of the fruit in some cultivars whilst others will have only mild symptoms of 'star cracking'. The splits in this apple have led to the Brown rot infection which has spoiled the fruit.
