Yellow vetchling (Lathyrus aphaca). This flower is rare in the UK but is found throughout Europe, the Meditteranean and the near East into Iran and Afghanistan. It is easily recognisable by its long stipules. These are appendages which emerge from from the bottom of a leafstalk (petiole). In this particular plant the stipules are long, stem-like appendages.
