Dryad's Saddle mushrooms (Polyporus squamosus) growing on a tree trunk. This common edible fungus, also known as Pheasant Back or Scaly Polypore, grows on deciduous trees between spring and summer. Its bracket can grow to 60 centimetres across and its stem to 10 centimetres in height. The lower surface has large pores which disperse the reproductive spores.
